            DOODHPATHRI(valley of milk)

 

 Doodhpathri known by Valley of Milk is a tourist destination and hill station in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.It is located in Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir.

Doodhpathri means a 'Valley of Milk' and the reason why it's called that is because the water flowing through the meadows here looks like milk from a distance. There's also a story which goes back in time. It is believed that when the famous saint of Kashmir Sheikh-ul-Alam once prayed here, and pricked the ground with his stick to get some water, milk started oozing out instead, on the rocks.

LOCATION:
Situated at an altitude of 8,957 ft from sea level, and located at a distance of 42 km from state summer capital Srinagar and 22 km from district headquarter Budgam.

How to Reach :

By airport- The closest airport is the Sheikh ul-Alam international Airport (Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir). Doodhpathri is at a distance of 40 Kms From this Airport and it takes approximately 1 hour by automobile.
By taxi or car:
available from Srinagar in under 1 and half Hour from car or Taxi.
